4th of July 2011

For the 4th of July weekend we went up to grandma Nancy and papa Dean's cabin for our annual trip. Like always we had so much fun. The fireworks were cancelled though because the forest was too dry and they didn't want to risk a forest fire. I was really bummed about that because we had been talking about the fireworks with Hailey for weeks and she was excited to see them. The kids weren't too bummed about it though. They still had the town parade and the park had bounce houses and slides and ponies to ride on. We did all of that a few times. Hailey once again would not jump in any of the bounce houses or do the slides but strangely she wanted to ride the ponies. At the park where my parents have their cabin the HOA had an icecream social one day and planned several games for the kids and even adults. They had a 3 legged race with the kids and with the adults, egg toss, sack race, and even a prize for the best decorated bike. Mommy and Daddy did the egg toss and won!! And Lexi won the best decorated bike!! She won a $2 bill!The best thing about being up there is the kids get to finally play outside! The weather is sooo nice. We even got rain on Sunday...(if only it had been on Friday we could've seen fireworks).
