Hailey's surgery

Back in April Hailey had surgery to have her tonsils and adenoids removed. She snored pretty bad and had restless sleep so this was the recommended fix for that. Lexi had her adenoids out so we were somewhat prepared but Hailey's recovery was much harder than Lexi's. Hailey was the perfect patient at the surgery center. We got several comments from the nurses and doctors on how good she was. She slept most of her recovery time and when we got home. That afternoon she started eating popsicles and applesauce so we were so excited!! The next day is when it starting getting rough. Hailey did not want to drink, eat, or even take her meds. It was a huge production every time she needed to take her medicine. She was in pain and not happy. We spent the next several days watching her like a hawk and forcing her to drink and eat popsicles. She was very close to being readmitted for dehydration. At night she would gurgle and choke so it kept me up for the first few nights and then after that she would wake up in pain during the night. It was a rough 10 days but at day 10 she turned the corner and started eating and drinking more and even went back to school. Hailey had quite a few people drop off gifts, cards, and popsicles for her. We are so lucky to have such wonderful friends. Since I was really busy with Hailey other people helped us out a lot by taking Lexi to school, dance, and even taking her sunsplash for the day to have fun. We are so thankful for all of these wonderful people in our lives. Hailey is now fully recovered and NO MORE SNORING!!! She sleeps so much better at night!
Here is Hailey getting ready for her X-ray to check out how big her adenoids are

Here she is before her surgery

It's a good thing she got lots of otter pops from her friends because that ended up being the only thing she would eat for days.

She even got mail from a friend

Here is Lexi and her friend KK at sunsplash. It was nice that she was able to go have fun so I could just focus on Hailey.
