Meet Hailey

Hailey Mae Blawat decided to finally come on February 6th, 2009 at 4:49am. The story began on Thursday. I had my regular doctors visit and was told my cervix had not changed any was super high and my Dr tried to strip my membranes but she said she could barely reach my cervix. So I left in tears. I came home walked the treadmill, bounced on the exercise ball and then called my mom to see if she wanted to walk to mall with Lexi and I. While we were at the mall I all of the sudden almost passed out in the Children's Place because of chest pain. We left the mall immediately and on the way home I started having contractions along with the chest pain. When I got home I checked my blood pressure and it was elevated so I called Rob and off we went to the hospital. All the way there I was contracting every 3-4 minutes and they were getting stronger and stronger. When I got to the hospital my good friend Jen was on and she checked my cervix and I had changed. I was now 3cm!! My doctor still wanted me to walk so I did for a half hour and then my cervix was 4cm!! By this time I was in pain and wanted my epidural so within the hour I got it. Things slowed down after that so they started me on pitocin and my doctor came in the break my bag of water at 2:30. At that time I was 5cm so I called my mom and my best friend Tara to come in. Well, they barely made it. I was gripping on to the bars and wouldn't let Jen check my cervix until they were just about there. Within 5 mins of them getting there I started pushing. I only pushed through a few contractions but I delivered Hailey direct OP, which means face up. Lexi came in immediately after that to meet her new sister. I think she was a little shocked at first but then they exchanged presents and Lexi just wanted to play with her new bear. Hailey has been great. She is feeding well and sleeping for now anyways. We came home Saturday afternoon and Lexi knows she has a sister now and wants to know what she is doing for a short period of time and then she wants to play with her toys. I think she is adjusting pretty well considering she is only 2 1/2yrs old. We will keep you updated with pics and stories!!
